Note: the back of the combo DVD/ VCR has one side that says "DVD ONLY" and has the s-video and component video connections. I must be missing something? We switched to coax cable from cable box to TV, and audio from cable box to Receiver, and have sound in speakers and TV, but poor quality picture on cable. We switched to RCA cables on the DVD and now have DVd picture and sound on tv and stereo speakers.
The TV remote has a switch for the different "inputs", and we did switch it to the Input 3/ Component, but still no picture. we had cable sound on TV and on speakers, but sound was very very quiet, unacceptable.Īnd also had no DVD image on the TV, but did have DVD audio from the speakers. (or to point me to a source that will tell me) Looking for someone to tell me what cables to connect where. Was told to use the Component Video for the DVD/VCR player and S-Video connection for Cable box (and RCA for the audio). Just got a new TV with Component Video and S-Video connections.
Previously had it working fine, but with older TV and coaxial cable connections and RCA connections. We are trying to connect a cable box, TV, Combo DVD/VCR, and Stereo Receiver. What we want: audio from TV speakers as well as the option for audio through stereo speakers, plus best possible connections for picture quality.
